I can't speak highly enough about the Accelerated Learning Center (ALC) in Springville. The class offerings in technology are fantastic. My son is learning so much! And the teachers know their stuff both mac and pc. You don't know how rare that is.

The robotics program is amazing. The carpentry program hard to find. And if you are interested in Concurrent enrollment classes they have them all. They do the competion for the older kids with Lego League. I can't remember the League but it starts in January with Mr. Eastman there at the ALC. And it is open to those no longer eligible for Lego League.

And you don't have to take any classes in a high school and if they are intimidated by being around older adults through the college! The kids really get the attention the need. These are the motivated learners. It feels like a mini college campus without all the adults.

Merit charter high school has created dual enrollment with them. This year their bell schedules conflict but we are able to work it out, so my son (8th grade) takes the computer programming at the ALC and just Humanities (Constitutional studies/English) and Math (Walsh) at Merit. He does the rest at home like Biology with Khan and his dad who taught Biology at BYU in his younger years.

I can't speak highly enough about this new program. As I like to do, I just walked in to check it out and find out what it was from an impression when driving by. Truly a great solution for those who need to go beyond what is offered through Giant Campus technology courses.

Other places that might be worth checking out is that appear to have the same set up:

Salt Lake Community College
Mountainland Applied Technology College
Granite Technical Institute
Jordan Applied Technology Center
Canyons Technology Education Center
